Indianapolis,
IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the
Fredericksburg Grizzlies in Northern Virginia have been added to the
growing list of expansion teams for the upcoming season. "What a great
addition to the league," stated ABA co-founder Joe Newman. "Not only is
the NoVA/DC area a great one for professional basketball, but the
location is a terrific link between our Maryland and Delaware teams to
the north and our Virginia and North Carolina teams to the south. And we
have two terrific owners."
Vincent and Karen Henderson are the proud new owners of the Fredericksburg
Grizzlies; both basketball enthusiasts and are truly excited about the opportunity with the ABA.
Vincent
attended Virginia Commonwealth University and currently works in
construction while Karen is a graduate of Hampton Universityh with a BS
in Psychology and currently works as a human resources professional.
The
proud parents of two teenage daughters, the oldest currently players
high school basketball and AAU. She has been playing basketball for
over ten years and Vince and Karen have been there every step of the
way. Their younger daughter also enjoys the game and is very athletic as
well. Maybe future WABA stars.
