The Independent Basketball Association and The Premier Basketball League to Join Forces

The Independent Basketball Association and Premier Basketball League have officially entered into a venture that will unite both leagues under the new name The IBA-PBL for the 2013 season.
The Independent Basketball Association (IBA) and The Premier Basketball League (PBL) are proud to announce a new partnership to begin in time for the 2013 season. In an effort to bring true leadership to the industry, the IBA and PBL will begin play in 2013 together as one league. The league will use the highly successful regional geographical model the IBA currently utilizes.
“Having seen many leagues over the years trying to unsuccessfully bring stability to the market, we have agreed to unite our strengths to change this pattern and offer a formidable option for professional basketball. We recognize there is still a considerable amount of work to be done, but we know we have the blueprint along with the resources to provide a very special and sustainable league for the industry,” says CEO and Spokesman of the IBA, Barry Bradford.
The IBA and PBL will not only combine teams but will also work together under one united front office to be led by Barry Bradford. Under his role as Commissioner, Barry Bradford will immediately begin to prepare for the upcoming season which is scheduled to tip off in March.
“We are extremely excited have The Premier Basketball League join forces with The Independent Basketball Association. This new venture represents a big step forward in solidifying minor league basketball across the communities both leagues represent. Today is a big win, not only our leagues and teams, but most of all for the fans of The PBL, IBA and minor league basketball,” said Dr. Sev Hrywnak, PBL President.
The league will consist of teams including; Rockford Riverdawgs, Sauk Valley Predators, Albany Legends, Buffalo Warriors, Holland Dream, Lake Michigan Admirals, Lansing Capitals, Rochester Razor Sharks, Lake County Stars, St. Louis Trotters, Indiana Diesels, Dayton Air Strikers, Springfield Xpress, Kenosha Ballers, Los Angeles Lightning, Gary Splash, Malibu Pirates, Battle Creek Knights and Kankakee County Soldiers, with several others to be announced. All teams will compete within the East division or Midwest division depending on the teams’ geographical location.
The new IBA-PBL.net website will be launching January 2013. For more information regarding the IBA-PBL contact Barry Bradford at 708-785-HOOP (4667) or info@ibaball.net.
