BUFFALO 716ERS ADDED TO NEXT SEASON’S EXPANSION TEAMS

Indianapolis. IN.  The American Basketball Association (ABA) www.abalive.com today announced that it has added the Buffalo716ers to its growing list of expansion teams for the 2013 season.  “Buffalo is a great sports city and certainly is long overdue for an ABA team,” stated Joe Newman, ABA CEO.  “We have waited for quite a few years for the right ownership group, and we finally have it in Franklin Jackson and Tawan Slaughter.  They’ve been working hard for several months putting things together there and we are confident that they’ll do a great job.”
Franklin Jackson is a Buffalo-based entrepreneur who played basketball at Oracle Charter School in Buffalo where he first thought about owning his own team.  “My love for the game of basketball gave me the drive to want my own professional basketball team,” commented Jackson.  “We don’t have any pro basketball teams in Buffalo, there are a lot of great players here and I think the fans will come out to see them if we have a good team.  My partner and head coach is Ms. Tawan Slaughter who is a former Fredonia and Buffalo State woman’s basketball player.  She has also coached boys and girls high school basketball and Buffalo State woman’s basketball.  She’s a dynamic woman with great ideas on how to create a winning team.  We will be competitive, we will make Buffalo proud.”
