Yet another team that couldn’t overcome MJ’s Bulls, the Utah Jazz teams of the mid-90s were some of the best never to win a title.
Utah reached the Finals in back-to-back years from 1997-1998, losing to Chicago each time. The 1996-97 team, when Karl Malone was named MVP and the Jazz won a franchise-record 64 games, earns the spot.
The elite pick-and-roll tandem of John Stockton/Karl Malone led the way for Utah, but underrated contributions from role players like Jeff Hornacek, Bryon Russell and Greg Ostertag should not be ignored.
