Clippers 127, Wolves 101: Roll continues

LOS ANGELES -- When the Los Angeles Clippers embarked on a 13-day, seven-game road trip two weeks ago, they didn't know exactly what kind of team they had.

They're still not totally sure, but after a 6-1 road trip that extended to a 7-1 record in their past eight games on Monday, they're getting a better idea.

The Clippers beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 127-101 in their first home game following the road trip, and have started to take advantage of the undermanned teams they are playing.

Coming into Monday's 26-point blowout, the Clippers had outscored their opponents by an average of 12.1 points per game over the course of their seven-game road trip. It was the largest average scoring margin for a road trip of seven or more games in NBA history, nearly two points better than the Milwaukee Bucks had in 1973 (10.4) during an eight-game road swing.

The Clippers have preached defense since training camp and have now held their past five opponents under 102 points while winning a season-high five straight games.

Surprise of the night: The Clippers were certainly the heavy favorites coming into the game but nobody thought L.A. would be up by 37 points in the second half. The blowout was so bad that Matt Barnes' son was sitting on his lap in the fourth quarter and DeAndre Jordan and Spencer Hawes were playing peekaboo with courtside fans.

Stat of the night: It was a hot shooting night for the Clippers across the board as they shot 51.2 percent from the field, 44.1 percent from behind the arc and 83.3 percent from the free throw line.

Goodbye, Movemeber: Clippers coach Doc Rivers shaved off his "Movember" mustache, as did many of the players who had joined the movement during the month of November, including Blake Griffin. "I feel a day younger," joked Rivers, who shaved his mustache Monday.

Players of the game: Griffin had 23 points and 8 rebounds, and J.J. Redick had 23 points and hit 4-of-5 from 3-point range.
