Indianapolis, IN.  The American Basketball Association (ABA) www.abalive.com today announced that the Sacramento Heatwave has moved to Madera, California and will change the team’s name to the California Heatwave.  Madera is located just north of Fresno and the team will play in both the Southern California and Northern California divsions.
“The Heatwave is the oldest team in the ABA, heading into its 10th season,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman.
“They have been a great team for many years.  Reggie Davis, the owner is from Central  California and has been eager to “move home” with his team.”
“I really am happy to be returning to the Central Valley and their avid sports fans,” added Davis.  “California Heatwave is a great depiction and representation of the Central Valley and the entire Golden State.  We’re proud of the name change and happy to be back providing great professional basketball, fun and entertainent and all at affordable prices for everyone.  Madera is a great community of people and families with a supportive spirit.  We welcome and embrace them and we invite their suggestions, resources and participation in helping to make our 10th season our best.
