Iowa took the second quarter, outscoring Erie 36-28 behind Patrick Christopher, scoring 11 of his 19 points in the second. Iowa led 60-53 at the halftime break.
Erie held Iowa to just 23 points in the third quarter. CJ Leslie had 8 of his 21 points in the third quarter. The BayHawks cut the lead to 4 heading into the fourth. Iowa led 83-79 after three.
Iowa pulled away in the fourth and came away with the 119-108 victory to improve to 19-11 on the season. Erie falls to 9-21.
Erie was led by Justin Brownlee's game high 27 points. Leslie added 21 off the bench. Lewis Jackson dished out 14 assists.
Othyus Jeffers led Iowa with 25 points and 9 boards. Patrick Christopher, Chris Allen, and Curtis Stinson each finished with 19 points.
Erie will travel to take on Sioux Falls tomorrow. Iowa will play the Tulsa 66ers on Tuesday at 7 pm at Wells Fargo Arena.
